Spring into Summer... seems like a blur.
So, for starters I would like to apologize for not writing for a bit. It's been a busy spring, and now summer, for tHe CoNStAnT.
Right after the House of Blues show we knew it was time to buckle down and get the album done. Frank worked diligently with the band, going back and forth with mixes. Once my vocals were laid down we all realized that the mix was going to be WAY different than the last incarnation of 'Sometimes'. We all heard different things. Be it a punchier Bass, or laying down acoustics within the heavy guitars... it was just going to sound different.
The House of Blues Los Angeles and other stuff
Hi folks!
It's been a few weeks since I've written a blog. I got caught up in this beautiful new state I'm in. I mean that literally and figuratively.
I've had the good fortune to hop on my road bicycle (My Blue RC-6. I know, drool, right? Haha) and head from Marina Del Rey up the PCH every morning. I truly am blessed. So you could stay that this magnificent weather and my mental state are in sync.
The Viper Room
As most of you know by now I am new to California. Hailing from Colorado where we hear stories about places like The Whiskey, The Viper Room and the Roxy. Most of us that aren't from California dream of playing these places. It's just so awesome that I get to play one of these Iconic clubs.
Thoughts and Prayers
I'm sure you've heard it all over the news by now about Japan. An 8.9 Earthquake hit Japan last night and then the Tsunami's started rolling in. I'm sure that they could use all of the love and support they can get at this moment.
I'm speaking for myself, but I'm sure the rest of the guys in the band feel the same way... We pray and push positive vibes to Japan and to anybody else that might have loved ones over there.
Stay Positive. The only CoNStAnT is Change.
Namaste,
Dave

Remembering Martin Luther King
Yesterday Hollianne and I went to the Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, California. Wow! It was incredibly powerful and moving. One of the messages that morning was about Martin Luther King. MLK stood for what he believed in and also died for what he believed in as well. How many of us are willing to put our lives on the line like he did? How many of us believe so adamantly in something that we are willing to fight and lose everything for it?
Happy New Year!!!!
We've been working hard over the last two weeks to get the vocals done for the album. And yesterday... the last day of the year we accomplished this!!! It was awesome to end 2010 this way. I can't wait for all of you to hear this. It totally rocks. The goal is to have something for your ears before spring.
Recording with The Constant
Up in L.A. for the next couple of days recording. So far we have 7 songs recorded. Frank is working his butt off to get this stuff done before the New Year. Today will be another onslaught of vocals. I'm ecstatic to be working with such amazing musicians. Frank, Brian and Oleg are the tightest I've worked with to date. And a great bunch of guys too.
